Concrete Restoration
Chezcore, Inc was retained to perform a major parking
deck rehabilitation of an existing parking deck for
reuse for the owner’s employees. The project, which
was separated into two phases, called for a quick turn
around from start of construction to completion.
The project included the removal of unsound concrete
over a 43,000 square foot area The concrete deck
replacement varied from 6 inches to full depth 14 inch
thick thru deck replacement. Over 50,000 pounds of
new epoxy coated reinforcement bars were installed in
the prepared deck patch areas to replace the exposed
defective reinforcement pieces. 170 yards of new
Microsilica concrete mix was poured and finished to
produce a sound condition.
The top deck level received a 21/2 inch finished layer of
concrete overlay over the entire 31,000 surface area.
Parking striping and signage was also added.
The work scope also called for 8,500 square feet of
defective concrete ceiling remediation. The repaired
areas were prepared and Shotcrete (concrete under
pressure) was placed and finished to produce a high
quality repair.
All of this work was conducted while the parking deck
was occupied and in use on the lower levels. The project
was performed within 165 calendar days, which was
ten days ahead of the projected completion date. It met
the owner’s budgetary parameters and is now a fully
functional parking facility. |
