Concrete Restoration
Chezcore, Inc, was the contractor of choice to
perform a very challenging concrete restoration project
at the Beaubien Street suspended walkway, Level 2 at
the Renaissance Center. The project consisted of the
removal of 600 running feet of deteriorated cast in
place concrete fascia beam, getting back to the original
reinforcement bars. A new concrete fascia beam
was formed and poured with the design calling for
embedded anchors that allowed for a new architectural
glass & stainless steel knee wall with precast cladding
to be installed.
The project also included over 1000 square
feet of random top deck and underside beam support
concrete repairs. In addition, a new urethane coating
system was installed on the horizontal surface of the top
deck, producing a long lasting, aesthetically pleasing
wear surface. The project was especially challenging
since it was required to be performed during off hours
as to not disturb the owners ongoing business. This
necessitated the closing of Beaubien Street proper on
a nightly basis for the work to be performed and reopening
it the next day for automobile traffic. |
