Chezcore, Inc. was called upon to perform a major renovation project for the Detroit Public Schools to a portion of the Hutchins Elementary/Smith Academy. The renovated wing is called "The Smith Academy". The Smith Academy was built because of a special education mandate from the state.

The timeline of the project required that Chezcore, Inc. complete the renovation of over 40,000 square feet of space within a 42-calendar day schedule. Despite a 18-day delay due to abatement, the classrooms and bathrooms were completed on time. The students were in the finished classrooms on the first day of school!
